REMEMBERING BAPU

The Martyrdom Day (January 30) this year was observed with a laden heart. The grim memories of the tragic earthquake that claimed so many lives brought such grief to the day, that is usually marked by solemn prayers. The bhajans and prayers were sung and said in a voice that quivered in mourning. Our in-house scholar Dr. Sangmitra Basu sang bhajans that were dear to the heart of Bapu. Shri Raghurama Ayyar, former Director (I & PR) played the melodious veena. Speaking on the occasion, President of the IGNCA Trust Shri L.M. Singhvi announced that the staff of IGNCA would contribute one day's salary to the PMRF and also extended an offer to adopt orphaned children, by a Social Trust under his leadership.
