Bhima Pargi is the youngest son of Goma Pargi. His paintings of animals and humans are always framed by a border of leaves, symbolizing a forest or hills, representing the Inya Parvat. He likes to depict animals as vehicles or vahanas of the goddesses. The Bhil pantheon has nine lakh goddesses, many of them named after the animals on which they ride. Macchimata for example, rides on macchi, the fish; Kukeramata rides on the dog, kukra; Hansmata on a swan or hans. He has often painted naar, the tiger, who carries Parvati on his back. The Bhils have given Parvati many names, one of them being Naarsinghi. Another motif of Bhima Pargi’s painting is a demon, who appears less frightening than amusing.
